Prior to forming Bits & Pieces, Jess Eaddy worked as a researcher, psychotherapist, and nonprofit project director. Focusing on addiction and mental health issues within the realms of neuroscience, social work, and public health, she acquired a wealth of experience that is now reflected within her writing. Specifically, she spent the past decade focused on understanding what drives addictive behaviors and how to create sustainable behavioral changes. Her background in psychotherapy assists her in accurately conveying truth with empathy, understanding, and compassion. She now redirects her attentive, client-centered style away from the therapy room and towards her customers and readers. In her free time, she enjoys taking road trips to embark upon outdoor adventures with her canine life partner, growing her own vegetables while listening to folk music, and drinking coffee.

The Bits & Pieces Blog takes its name from the title of a poem written by Lois Cheney. Under every great feat lies a long series of bits and pieces. Those that worked well were laid into the foundation and became an integral part of the end product. The pieces that didn’t fit were discarded along the way. But each part, and every experience, intrinsically held value and was necessary in order to create the finalized whole.
